Banned From Digital Point Forums

So today something crappy happened to me, I got myself banned from Digital Point Forums. That sucks! I don't want to be banned from Digital Point Forums! But now it's too late, it's all over except for the crying.

And I didn't just get myself banned from Digital Point for 10 days or 1 month, I got banned for 6 freaking months. It's all my fault too. I was bumping my threads and that, trying to squeeze every little ounce of life I could from them. but I thought I was sneakily bumping my threads, like acting like I was responding to a statement someone else made.

And Digital Point accused me of spamming, which I was absolutely not! Obviously I knew that spamming would get me banned from Digital Point so I tried my best to take care not to spam. I really thought that people might be interested in articles I have here on Great Ways to Make money Online dot com and so I was starting threads and then pointing them this way. Apparently this is spamming to Digital Point.

I was really starting to like Digital Point too. I was getting some killer traffic from them. And not just empty traffic, but quality converting traffic. I guess that's why I was getting so gung-ho about bumping my threads, I didn't want the flow to stop.

The worst part is that the ban is for 6 months! They could have just banned me for 1month or something, but no, Digital Point bans me for 6 months. That's like being punished by torture.

So now I have to be on the hunt for another killer forum to use. One with the kinds of traffic that Digital Point gets.

So, everyone out there using Digital Point Forums. Be very careful so you don't get banned too. Do not bump threads. Do not start threads in the wrong categories. Do not point to many links to your site in succession. Blah blah blah. Okay, otherwise you will get banned from Digital Point.

There is one bright side to this whole crappy thing though. Maybe now I can get more done since I won't be able to waste half of my day at Digital Point. LOL!

Please leave a comment and tell me what you think about Digital Point Forums. Or what you think about me, or you, or anyone getting banned from Digital Point Forums.

Dude, don't be mad I was banned indefinately ;( for link spamming. I wasn't only link spamming, I was also using paid links :) (Linkbucks) So when someone clicked on the link not only were they going to my blog, but I was also gettng paid for the link. Kind of like adwords but instead of paying for the traffic you get paid for the traffic.

I thought I had unlocked something new like you said, the traffic conversions was crazy! I was killing two birds with one stone, but one thing I over-looked. Damn linkbucks lets spyware/adware advertisers on their network, so when poeple clicked my links they were getting linked to spyware attack sites before visiting mine.

Well, some people complained and it was all over, I got the infamous email and not only did I get banned, they exhiled my a$$.

Ain't no coming back :(. It's alright though, I should have made more account's using different I.P. address instead of being whitehat and just using one account.

There is so much money to be made at DP is unbelievable. I cannot afford to be banned.

Yeah, no doubt that the traffic from DP converts like no other. I will be ready to crush it when they let me back in July. Until then I will be searching for other forums that have that mad amount of traffic. Good luck to me and everyone else that DP smacked up. Thanks LCD and Don Mega.

DP is a good forum. See you back there in 6 months!

I joined your blog after reading one of your posts on DP. :) I guess it's fine to do what you were doing 'once in a while' but if you start doing that 'regularly', I guess the mods have the right to get angry. Anyway, I hope to see you there again in 6 months.

I would say DP is a good forum, though I have seen mods going wild sometimes :P

In the mean time, please come and join my new forums! I'm sure you'll love them as they grow - and that goes to everyone else too! Just click on my name. See you there!

DP was great at one time, but moderator decisions like the one that banned you have made DP useless.

You can't buy or sell on the B/S/T forums there, because the person you are doing business with might suddenly disappear from the conversation at any moment.

A lot of us ex-DPers are now at NetBuilders.org. It's a much better environment than DP ever was.

Will, thanks for the tip about NetBuilders.org, I'll be sure to check it out soon.

I think DP is not all that great. People think DP is like online God. Hey, guess what, It's not and it's only info site. I too was ban for 7 days, due to asking too much questions (yes, just questions) which they call it (infaction). I try to contact them online with their email. Guess what, it didn't work. I'm not a webmaster, not a site builder in fact I don't even own a web site.
Also I think (my opion) DP is like a getto place. Yes it true 70% were webmater hang out plus other con who try to sell stuff. But hey their must be a better place other then DP. Where you as a site owner, webmaster and all other junkies can hang out and post info about thier site and interest.

By the way, if you are ban from DP. What I do is use my other computer and sign up for a new account. Mod can monitor your old account but they can't monitor the new account. Anyway I think they like to ban user. Why? This will give them more new user (from the one being ban)to sign up. It will show that they will have more members in the event Google or Yahoo want to buy them.

I am member of DP since more than a year and yes, they are really strict when it comes to spamming.

Unfortunately, I think they are not the way they used to be as authentic spammers are increasing.

But for those who are not, I really suggest that they read carefully the FAQ and rules. They should also search first before posting, and asking simple questions.

By the way, Warrior forums is one of the best for me when it comes to Internet marketing and blogging.

You may want to check them out one time.

Hope that helps.

I am banned for six months. I was spamming. Since I was not able to put my signature. I used to put my site without http:// code. I have seen others using hxxt:// to denote http:// but explaining into the the post.

Anyway, six months is long way. I have a forum where everyone is allowed to put his/her affiliate link.

Digital Point becomes so strict in implementing its rules and policies because for the past months many are abusing the forum. But in the course of wiping out the bad eggs from the basket, good eggs have been affected too.

Looking at many post and article one get the impression that the fault is always from mods of DigitalPoint side for ban (at DP forums.digitalpoint.com)

I do not want to discuss here about the fault of mods of DP or the members. But one thing I have seen is that many baned members are joining NetBuilders.Org (I am also one of them), looking at the forums style and admin support to members NB is going to be one of the leader in this segment.

Right now there are not many members who have joined NB, I think looking at the demand for good platform NB is has got a good future.

Also it is advisable to join more then one forums, particularly if you are more active in BTS section, you never know may be you can become the next member to be banned (as I have seen out of top 10/12 posters at DP about four are banned. I am not against anybody or I am not favoring anybody, just want to say that think about yourself for your future.
Please note I am also a banned member of DP for six months.
Good luck friends.

Shucks. Thank you so much for this information. I might have followed the same path (bumping my threads). I mean I'm a member of another forum where it's ok to keep on responding to my respondents with links and stuff. I never thought it would appear as something else in Digitalpoint. You are right, I get killer traffic from there too and it would be a pity to get banned.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation.

Digitalpoint is going the way of the doodoo and Netbuilders is a clone of DP run by a militant atheist maniac bent on spreading his dictatorship to the internet world. If you want to find an alternative, this SEO and Internet Marketing Forum would be the right choice for anyone.
