AddYours - Just Another Blog Directory: Add Your Blog for Free

So today I came across another free blog directory for everyone to add their websites and blogs to. I came across this site while dropping entrecards and thought that they have a nice new site and that I would do them a small favor and do a short article on them.

This new blog directory is called AddYours and their slogan is "Just Another Blog Directory" and basically that is what they are, another blog directory.

So why do you like this site I'm sure you're asking, right? Well, AddYours intrigues me because it is done on a blogspot domain, which means they built the website for free using Blogger. Many of you who have been with me from the beginning know that Great Ways to Make Money Online dot com started out as blogger blog on a blogspot domain. (Actually I still use Blogger to build this site, I just bought my own domain.)

This just goes to show that anything you want in a website can be done using Blogger. Many of the so called make money online gurus scoff at Blogger and other free blogging platforms and will tell you that no one can make money online using them. Well guess what? They are wrong. I'm doing it, AddYours is doing it, and you could be doing it too! All you have to do is be creative. Any type of website can be built using Blogger! And you can definitely make money online for free using Blogger.

So go and check out AddYours now and add your websites and blogs to their directory. I did!

Project Wonderful Sucks and I'm Giving Them the Boot - Bye Bye!

Project Wonderful straight up sucks and I am personally tired of seeing them in my sidebar day after day. I originally thought I would give them a try way back in June 08'. You can read my first article about Project Wonderful here.

I don't know why I waited so long to scrap them really. In 6 months I have a whopping $3.62 in my account. I wanted to give Project Wonderful the boot awhile ago but I thought I would wait until I reached the 10 dollar cash out limit but obviously it would take me forever to reach the limit.

So what I am going to do is spend the $3.62 in advertising first and then kill the widget on this site. If I just kill the widget, they won't let me do anything with my account, like advertise on other people's websites. I'm telling you this just in case your wondering why the widget is still here.

So the bottom line is, unless your website or blog is generating hundreds of thousands of hits per day, do not even contemplate Project Wonderful. It will be one giant waste of your time and a big waste of precious space on your website.

Bye bye Project Wonderful and good riddance!

Feedjit Hack for Quick Real-Time Analytics on Your Blog or Website

Does everybody know what Feedjit is and what Feedjit widgets do? Well if you haven't heard of Feedjit or noticed Feedjit widgets around the web on hundreds of thousands of websites and blogs then I don't know where you have been for quite some time...

But anyway, Feedjit makes a live traffic feed and many other real-time widgets for you to use. Feedjit is also completely free and you don't even have to register.

Feedjit widgets have numerous features including:

- being completely free
- zero registration and cut & paste install
- watch your visitors arrive in real-time
- your blog included in the Geoblogosphere
- fully customizable
- shows city/town-level locations
- shows which website a visitor arrived from
- shows which link was clicked to leave

But this article isn't about how sweet the Feedjit widgets are. It's about how you can use Feedjit widgets on your websites and blogs to quickly see some real-time analytics of your traffic.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this website, you will see that I have the Feedjit real-time live traffic widget installed. I have this here not because I want my visitors to see where people are coming from and going to, but because I like to check out the stats myself to see what is going on with my websites. And I don't always feel like using Google Analytics because is seems like such a hassle to me when all I want to know is some quick, real-time traffic stats.

So what I do is click the button on the bottom of the Feedjit real-time live traffic widget that says "Watch in Real Time". And that will take me to the following page called FEEDJITLIVE for greatwaystomakemoneyonline.com

Here I can see the last 50 visitors to my blog. I can see what country they are from and whether they arrived here at Great Ways to Make Money Online dot com or departed and also what websites they arrived from and are leaving to. This page also tells me what browser my visitors are using as well as what operating system they have. If they arrived from a search engine, it also tells me what keywords they used to find my blog.

All of this is so easy for me to use to find out quick real-time stats about my traffic here. I like this better than Google Analytics because I have numerous websites and blogs and many of them I like to check out stats on numerous time a day.

I know I am always looking for cool new share and save buttons and also subscribe buttons. While I travel around the web reading other people's blogs I always take notice of their save and share buttons and also their subscribe buttons.

So I have been building a lot of niche websites lately and have been having quite a bit of success with them. I have really been busy doing this so I haven't been able to keep up with the updates on this website like I want to. But that doesn't mean that I am not going to continue to be here at Great Ways to Make Money Online.

I have been debating about whether to show you guys some tricks I have learned lately to reach the top page in Google and I have decided that yes, you people deserve to know this information.

So I am going to take one of my niche market sites that has been doing extremely well for me lately, not only in sales but in serps also, and break it down for you to show you exactly how I have been reaching the first page in Google with on-page seo techniques for my keywords. So, to start with, you will need to find a niche market that has less than 1 million competitor's websites. Now this niche market can be anything you want as long as there is less than 1 million competitors. And I say that there has to be less than 1 million because if there is more than 1 million, you will need a ton of back links to your website because the on-page seo will not be enough to reach the first page in Google.

So lets get started. The niche website that I have been having great success with lately is called 420 Games. And with this website, I write up short reviews of the newest video games for PS3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360. There are millions and millions of websites focusing on these top game consoles but what I am doing is writing pages and posts on specific games for specific consoles.

Lets take the new atv game for PS3 for example called Pure. Right now I am on the first page in Google for any combination of the words "pure atv offroad racing game PS3" and I attribute this solely to my on-page seo techniques.

Here is exactly what I did with on-page seo to reach the first page in Google for the above search terms in less than 2 days. Go to the page and take a look while you read the following, the page will open in a new window, Pure ATV Offroad PS3.

The first and most important part that needs to be done is to write your post title with the exact keywords you want to be listed for. Then, your first sentence and last sentence in the post must contain the exact same keywords. This is very important! And also don't forget to scatter your exact keywords throughout the post. I usually do this in the first sentence of each paragraph.

Now the next part I do besides write in the exact keywords I want to be listed for is to put a picture at the top of the post. Now Google can't read the picture itself so you have to tell Google what the picture is about. The easiest way to do this is to save the picture on your computer as your exact keywords. Then when you upload it, the text inside the picture's html will tell Google what the picture is about.

Next I write a short review of the game, making sure I use the exact keywords I want to be listed for in the first sentence.

After my short review, I follow with a movie from You Tube on the subject. When I search for a movie from You Tube, I search with the exact keywords I want. This way, again you will have your terms in the html of the player so Google will know what the video is about.

Then I write a sentence offering my visitors to buy the game now. I then have listings from Amazon and E-bay selling the exact product my post is on. So when I get the html for the 2 affiliate plug-ins, I make sure once again to use the exact keywords so again Google knows exactly what it is looking at.

I then close the post with my keywords. I found the easiest way for me to do this was to encourage my visitors to write a comment. But whatever way you choose, you must close your post with the exact same keywords you want to be listed for.

In re-cap, I gave Google everything they love. A post titled with the keywords I want to be listed for. A picture of the keywords I want to be listed for. A short text review of the keywords. A video of the keywords. And some html plug-ins of the exact keywords. And then I close the post with the keywords. Google loves these types of posts because they contain all of Google's favorite things, text, pictures, videos, and plug-ins all relevant to the search terms you want to be listed for.
